Interim - Group exhibition (Galeria de Arte da Anatel - Évora 2019)

The sculptures are the result of experiments using new materials never used by the artist before. They became relevant as they are related to the theme of escape, the investigation of movement and space. Through these materials, such as sizal, elastic and wood, one begins to explore the functions that these materials perform, such as flexibility and tension in their uses. When combined, they are disassociated as everyday elements and bring a new composition, not only as new pieces, but the contrasts of these elements are transformed without aesthetic intent, but providing new meanings. This allows the viewer the opportunity to have his own interpretations of the work, rather than simply justifying the artist's intentions not merely the plot of lines and materials, but the struggle of the body and heart. Not a formal departure but an eminence that points to the essence of man - which is to assume his freedom. To authoritatively translate a chapter of universal history, that of coercion, and correlatively the irrepressible urge, which protests the human nobility of liberation. Manifesting in his works a thousand imperative images, nourished by reading and guided by morals. The pieces summon knowledge and quote the compass of consciousness: The freedom.
